When you install the program, a tutorial video opens in a web browser, providing an extensive (46-minute) explanation of how to get started working in PaintShop Pro. The Edit workspace provides a full range of photo-editing tools, suitable for even serious photographers. This is also where you'll find Corel's popular and fun Makeover Tool, which is a collection of brushes you can use to quickly correct blemishes and wrinkles, whiten teeth and eyes, add a suntan, and take off a few pounds. Other tools, such as crop, red-eye and clone, are available through the sidebar's tabs, but are not as immediately self-explanatory. The left sidebar provides lots of custom control over a nice range of tools, such as sliders for precise fine-tuning of Smart Fix, white balance and noise suppression. Applying an effect is as simple as clicking on one of the thumbnail variations, which are visual representations of various settings for the effect. We particularly liked the Refine Brush tool which made it incredibly easy to create complex selections.The right sidebar offers a nice range of Instant special effects, including Film Styles, Artistic, and Black & White.

It hasnвЂ™t got all the features that Photoshop enjoys, but then again, it doesn't cost nearly as much, and the tools it does have, especially the ones in this update are most impressive. Final verdictДЄll in all, Corel Paintshop Pro 2020 is a solid piece of software, which allows you to improve photographs and create complex composites with ease. This isnвЂ™t a complaint specific to Corel, but to any publisher who does this. ItвЂ™s just hard to swallow, having paid good money for an app, to be confronted with a pay wall to gain access to more content. Sadly there are precious few add ons that are free, but the brushes are mostly cheap enough to give them a try. New brushes and palettes have also been introduced, but not all are bundled into the app by default - in order to get them, you need to access CorelвЂ™s online store (which you can do from Paintshop ProвЂ™s welcome screen), and see everything thatвЂ™s available - for a price.
